BiS Kaidan, the unique noise pop supergroup made up of harsh noise legends Hijokaidan and don’t-give-a-fuck pop idols BiS (Brand-new idol Society, who are set to disband on the 8th of July), has defied all expectations for the thousandth time by releasing a posthumous album. The band split up on the 6th of May following their most chaotic concert in their career and won’t officially be reuniting, but this latest release should be just the thing to soothe distressed fans while cleaning out their wallets for good measure.

The self-titled album (a strange decision, since their first LP was also self-titled) will be released in two editions: a CD and DVD set, and a limited-run ten-disc collector’s box set which is priced at 30,000 yen. Both sets include full footage of the group’s final concert, which, in true Japanoise style, features the hurling of entrails, pigs’ heads, tampons, and so-called “mysterious fluid” into the crowd as the BiS members attack the unsuspecting audience with tasers. Utter chaos.

Check out their video for “Suki Suki Daisuki” (I Like You, I Like You, I Really Like You), a cover of Togawa Jun’s 1987 weirdo-pop anthem, lovingly reworked with blaring feedback and ear-splitting screams.

The contents of the album’s regular edition are as follows:

CD: 2nd album “BiS Kaidan”

The order of the album tracks has yet to be decided.

Bonus

This excessively large collection all comes packaged in a “luxurious” box designed by graphic designer and collage artist Kawamura Kousuke, who is famous for his dark and surreal style.

As one of the most groundbreaking acts in the history of both pop music and noise, this release documents BiS Kaidan’s history from conception to disbandment, and shouldn’t be missed by (rich) collectors.

BiS Kaidan will be released on the 3rd of September through Avex Trax.
