D’Angelo Announces New Album ‘Black Messiah’

It’s been over 14 years since D’Angelo’s 2000 triumph, Voodoo, but he and The Vanguard have announced its followup, Black Messiah.
A short snippet from the album was posted online by D’Angelo’s manager and his latest album will premier this Sunday on this site.
The album itself will also debut this Sunday at a New York City listening session sponsored by Red Bull Music Academy and Afropunk.
D’Angelo has been strangely quiet since his appearance at ?uestlove at Bonnaroo’s 2012 Superjam in addition to other festivals and a tour with Mary J. Blige, but he recently announced a European tour under the title ‘The Second Coming Tour.’
